With the Rio Olympics now in full swing, we decided to take inspiration from Brazilian beauties such as Gisele and Alessandra Ambrosio. Their glowing skin, toned limbs and ‘go-getter’ attitude is infectious so we’re here to share some beauty secrets all the way from Brazil for this summer.
The natural look beach look
A natural, sun-kissed face is a staple beauty look this summer 2016, who doesn’t want to look good barefaced? The secret here is not being totally bare but pretending that you are – there’s nothing wrong with telling a little white lie every now and then. Our Heliocare Colour Compact is perfect to even out the skin tone in a subtle way, cover up blemishes and still be protected from the sun with its SPF50 protection. Try contouring to enhance the bone structure by applying the Heliocare Colour Compact along the cheeks, bridge of nose and temples to create an defined yet natural look.
Our sources have confirmed that many Brazilian women drink at least one glass of coconut water a day. Apart from being a delicious and refreshing drink, which is suitable for the Brazil’s tropical climate, coconut water also contains cytokinins that have been proven to have an anti-ageing effect.
Moreover, coconut water (which is the liquid inside green coconuts) is full of essential minerals including zinc, magnesium, iron as well as the complete set of B-group vitamins. All of them are great for the skin’s health. If you’ve already discovered coconut water you could ramp up your dose of skin-loving vitamins with our range of Fountain drinks which promote a youthful and glowing complexion.
One of the beauty secrets for healthy and glossy Brazilian hair, regardless of hair type, is the avocado mask – not only for your toast in the morning!
Avocado can add moisture to dry hair and also smooths frizzy ends due to its essential oils. In order to do this treatment, you simply need to mash an avocado and then apply it to your scalp and hair. Cover hair with a bathing hat and let it rest for half an hour before rinsing. Follow with your regular shampoo and conditioner and your hair should feel beautifully silky like a true Brazilian.
The Lycon So Berry oil is also a brilliant pre-shampoo treatment. Fill the bath or basin with hot water and place the bottle in to warm up for a few minutes. One or two pumps applied to the ends of the hair will tame those split ends in no time. Leave on for as long as you can (about 10 minutes should do the trick) before shampooing as normal.
All about that bass
In Brazil, women are proud of their posteriors, thus we cannot talk Brazil without mentioning their most highly favoured assets! The secret to perfect Brazilian bottoms appears to be their love of backwards leg kicks and squats. Try these simple exercise techniques whilst you’re at the gym.
We all know that looking the part can really help with motivation so we have a hand-picked selection of designer gym gear to get you looking as good as you feel
If you’re not ready to hit the gym just yet, try our South Seas Bora Bora Body Polish. Packed with natural fruit extracts from Bora Bora, regular use can boost blood flow and reduce the appearance of cellulite, leaving skin silky smooth and radiant.
A sexy thong and a dental-floss-bikini are practically an essential for the women of Brazil. To complete the look we would always recommend our iconic Brazilian bikini wax treatment. We use hot Lycon wax to ensure our waxes are virtually pain-free and our therapists are all expertly trained in intimate hair removal (and some of the very best in London!). Brazilian waxes are one of our specialities so why not book yours now?
Carrot juice tan
If you love the gorgeous Brazilian tans, we have little insider tip to share… Consuming carrot juice for around 2 weeks before getting you hit the beach can enhance the skin’s ability to tan. The high levels of beta-carotene in this plant will boost your colour, giving your skin a natural golden glow. If you struggle to get your five a day you could also try our ‘cheat’ and grab yourself a South Seas Tahitian tan extender – it’s a very gradual self-tanner and the natural extracts can also accelerate a tan. Remember to use SPF though as you still need to protect you skin against burning – have you seen our Heliocare range – it’s recommended by celebrity make-up artist Lisa Eldridge.
